Did you know 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys will be sexually abused before age 18?!? Sexual abuse is an epidemic that isn't talked about enough partly due to the shame and stigma attached to it. I say enough of that!My earliest memories of childhood are saturated with child abuse by my very own father. As you can imagine this was incredibly difficult to live with. At age 11 I was raped by my parents employee. I spiralled quickly into a self destructive path filled with uncontrollable life choices...at least that's what I thought. Through the support of my peers and the ability to "TELL" I began my healing process. My first encounter with the therapist left me crippled, that's when I asked myself "why are you doing this?!" I took out my purple sparkle pen and wrote down my "reasons why", 13 of them to be exact. Let's fast forward 18 years (I'm not that old lol..im ONLY 36 ;) with a childhood filled with trauma the odds were staked up against me, seriously. Today I sit in my beautiful Florida home with my high school sweetheart & 2 children. I have an incredible life filled with peace, love, and happiness. I have made it my mission to infuse my passion for showing people that despite having gone through trauma we can overcome and conquer.. we can thrive...we can be successful.. we can live a meaningful life because we are not defined by labels or what society calls us.  Remember my 13 reasons why?? I found that list about 2 years ago and guess what?! I reached every goal!
